Since 2000, Eleta has been part of the Specialty Coffee Association of Panama (SCAP) and has participated in the Best of Panama cupping competition, achieving outstanding scores. Since 2003, Eleta is also a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact, focusing on producing specialty coffee in an environmentally and socially responsible manner. Eleta is also known for its child labor prevention programs and annually partners with Casa Esperanza, a specialized non-governmental organization, to deliver health care and nutritional supplements as well as formal classes to the sons and daughters of Ngäbe-Buglé workers who attend school, and are prevented from going to work into the coffee plantations, particularly during harvest time.
